Meet Sance
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Sance – Business Development Manager for Swell. I manage partnerships, advertising campaigns, corporate distribution – and generally spread the good word about Swell and the amazing work Kristy, Bec and the team do!
Prior to landing my role with Swell, I worked in corporate partnerships at City of Sydney and had previously worked in media sales for 15 years. Being part of the Swell team has allowed me to draw on that experience while getting to know and love a wide range of amazing Newcastle businesses and people.
What do you love most about Newcastle?
What’s not to love?! Lifestyle and pace certainly comes to mind. People here are busy of course, but when you bump into each other at the park, baths, beach, school gate etc., they’re happy to stop and have a chat. I think there’s a really nice vibe and I hope Newy never loses that.
Where can we find you hanging out?
In almost every instance – with my family and dog! In our backyard, at our local park, the beach, having fish and chips at Bar Beach’s Swell Kiosk...or out and about meeting the wonderful people that Swell introduces me to. My current favourite restaurant in Newcastle is definitely Signal Box – the food is amazing!
What are you currently reading, listening to and watching?
I’m currently reading Honeybee by Craig Silvey. The most recent podcast I listened to and loved was ‘Who Is Daniel Johns?’ and I’ve been watching a lot of tennis. It’s my favourite TV time of year! I also love Yellowstone and over the Christmas holidays I binged Emily In Paris – don’t judge me! I love all of the shots of Paris, the French music and fashion and how ridiculously unrealistic the whole show is!
