Holmeswares is a colourful, vibrant handmade jewellery business based in Newcastle, specialising in hand-painted earrings and accessories that bring a pop of personality to your everyday look. Founded by local creative Sarah Holmes, the business grew out of her desire to find a hands-on creative outlet during parental leave.
With a background in graphic design, Sarah started experimenting with ceramics but soon realised the challenges of working with that medium alongside parenting. She switched to polymer clay earrings, which quickly evolved into her signature hand-painted pieces – each uniquely crafted to spark joy and start conversations.

“I love everything about the process, from sketching ideas to painting the final details. The best part? Seeing someone light up when they wear a pair of my earrings,” says Sarah.
Currently, Sarah is exploring bold patterns and graphic florals in acrylic, developing a new series of statement brooches and limited-edition silk scarves printed with her original earring artwork – perfect for days when you want a statement but don’t feel like wearing earrings.
Rooted in the creative energy and coastal calm of Newcastle, Sarah credits the city’s supportive community and inspiring surroundings for helping her grow her business.
